The Herd-like Stupidity of Campaign Fundraising Emails

“Tonight at midnight, we face the first quarterly FEC deadline of this campaign.”

“Tonight’s midnight fundraising deadline is the biggest test we’ve faced…”

“We have a chance to send an unmistakable message about the size and strength of our campaign…”

“Our FIRST FEC End-of-Quarter deadline of 2019 is TOMORROW and we need all hands on deck.”

If this isn’t the first election you’ve paid attention to, you’ve realized that FEC deadlines are the only made-up gift giving occasion that makes you think Hallmark wasn’t being that crass when they invented boss’s day. But it’s definitely a bipartisan tradition to celebrate the holiday, once a quarter.

All it tells me is that the campaign is creatively bankrupt and they have nothing more urgent to talk about than how much money they have. I’m not interested in such narcissism.
